1. Lightly padded shoulder and side rails, enough to make it comfortable without making it bulky. Less padding gives you more versatility because you can cinch it up tighter. It also means a cooler sling in the summer and allows you to wear a jacket over it in the winter.
2. The tail is sewn down at the end for ease of threading, but has enough of an open tail design to allow you to adjust the inner and outer rails independently and easily. We now offer a choice of a sewn-down tail or a loose tail on our lightly padded slings.
In addition, we sew special "guides" into the sewn-down tail of our slings so that when you are adjusting your sling, you know exactly which fold of fabric to pull on to get a secure and tight fit around your baby.
3. Our slings are wide enough so that as your baby grows, there will always be room no matter how big baby gets.
4. Our padding is sewn down so it cannot slip inside the rail. It also prevents it from bunching up during wearing or washing.
5. Our side rails are sewn together over the shoulder pad to give more comfort in the shoulder, and there is unpadded fabric on either side of the pad which allows you more freedom to adjust the sling to where it is most comfortable to wear. This also allows the sling fabric to be spread over your shoulder, distributing baby's weight over a larger area and keeping the sling from riding up onto your neck or slipping off your shoulder onto your arm.
6. We prewash all of our fabrics in chemical free detergent to minimize shrinkage.
